Just more of the same old "he said, she said..."

If he's looking for campaign donations, he's probably struck gold.

Seems to me, the more outrageous the sentiment, the more likely extremists from both sides of the aisle are willing to reward the efforts on their behalf.

I don't know about you, but I'm just about sick of hearing the scurrilous, audacious claims being touted by the Democrats and the GOP in the health care reform issue—well, except the one Will Ferrell made about the insurance executive wanting white tigers and pygmy horses for the mini-zoo in his back yard. Now, THAT was funny! Heh.

But for the most part, the attacks, misinformation and downright lies simply aren't amusing anymore. From Sarah Palin's "Death Panels," to Representative Joe Wilson's outburst during the President's speech, to this latest accusation by Representative Grayson (Democrat, Florida) that the GOP just wants us to "die quickly," I think we've heard enough, don't you?

On Tuesday, I wrote about how I've been watching The National Parks on PBS this week. In the episode on Monday night, they spoke at length about the huge battles in Congress at the turn of the last century surrounding the creation of our most iconic National Parks. On one hand, we had the "tree huggers," and on the other, "the greedy capitalists" who only wanted to find a way to exploit-for-profit the natural resources at stake. The fighting, lobbying and politics were just as vicious.

As far as I could tell, the only notable difference between then and now seems to be the extent of the American people's exposure to the events surrounding the respective issues. Today, TV and Internet—communications technologies in general—have made it possible to be an eye-witness to blow-by-blow madness and mayhem.

Makes the "Good ol' days" and a radio the size of a refrigerator sitting in the corner of your living room seem kinda appealing by comparison, doesn't it?

Oh, wait...folks didn't even have radios in their living room way back then.

Even better!
